About FarmHouse

crest(110x170)FarmHouse Fraternity is an international social fraternity founded in 1905 at the University of Missouri. True to the FarmHouse motto "Builder of Men", the fraternity seeks to build men with a fourfold development by encouraging growth in the Intellectual, Physical, Social/Moral and Spiritual aspects of their lives. FarmHouse’s chapters are typically within the top 15% of Greek chapters' average GPA on their respective campuses (higher than the All-University & All-Men Average GPA), the organization is a leader in alcohol-free housing, never having a policy that allowed alcohol in chapter facilities, and FarmHouse has strong ties to both 4-H and the National FFA Organization. Today the fraternity has over thirty chapters across the United States and Canada. The Minnesota Chapter was the 8th chapter, founded in 1931.

  Drinking

  FarmHouse emphasizes the importance of
obeying the laws set forth by the University
and our International Policy. We take great
pride in maintaining our reputation as a
completely dry fraternity house. This along
with other characteristics, helps us maintain
a safe, respectable living environment for our
members. If a member or guest is caught with
alcoholic beverages inside of the house, they
could be penalized and/or asked to leave the
fraternity. We feel that having this rule keeps
our house in great condition and promotes a
  working environment.

The Parlor
ParlorThe Parlor is the main living space at FarmHouse. With a newly remodeled fireplace, hardwood flooring and an overall renovation of the room - it makes for a very comfortable place to meet. The room has a large big screen television, including DirecTV and DVD as well as five leather couches. This room is utilized for Bible Studies, studying, group meetings, watching sports games and much more.
The Chapter Room
Chapter RoomThe Chapter Room is where the members of our house eat, as well as meet. The room seats up to sixty people for meals and is where the chapter holds its weekly business meeting. This room also showcases composite pictures from recent years and if you look closely you can even notice the letters ‘FH’ on the floor, symbolizing our Fraternity. Neighboring the Chapter Room is the Courtyard, which has its own grill for outdoor cooking, outdoor seating and a fire pit.
The Kitchen
KitchenFarmHouse Fraternity is a pretty unique place; rather than paying a cook or staff to make meals for the house, every individual chips in and we prepare our own meals. The house has a full service, industry standard kitchen that is open 24 hours a day. Nine prepared meals are served each week. The meals are cooked and staffed, or ‘crewed’, by members of the house; we learn to cook from one another and are known on campus for some of the best meals you can find.
The Computer Lab & Study Room

Computer LabThe basement at FarmHouse is where our computer lab is located. The room is equipped with two computers, both with the latest technology including Microsoft Vista® and Office®. These computers are available 24 hours a day for anyone who might need them. In the lab there is also a copy machine, fax, color printer, scanner and various equipment to punch, bind and cut any assignment you might ever need specialized. Currently, we are in the process of redoing our computer lab with more shelfing available and new equipment. The room will be complete in the fall of 2009.

Recently, 2007, FarmHouse re-modeled the basement with a new study room where members can focus on studying outside of their rooms.  This study room has plenty of desk space and lounging with a 24 hour quiet period enforced. This is an important edition to our house so that members can focus on their academics.
